Historical Medicine

Herbs and spices as well as snails and insects were used by the "GP" of the past to restore the health of their patients.

We can offer an enlightening insight to the practices of the Tudor doctor and his little "Black Bag", take a look inside his medicine chest with jars overflowing with powdered mice and spiders, the latest cure for whooping cough and the shivering ague. A large display of herbal cures can also be viewed.
